Victoria Canal is a 23-year-old singer, songwriter, producer, and activist. During lockdown, she wrote an EP, Elegy, to cope with the news of a close relative’s incurable cancer. Victoria wrote the deeply personal and emotive tracks in isolation, thinking they would never be heard by anyone. However, one of her online series ‘Mellow Tunes’ caught Coldplay’s Chris Martin’s attention, who became her mentor and encouraged her to be more open and honest in her songwriting. She decided to share her personal songs in the hope they might speak to people who were going through similar situations. Elegy tells the fictitious story of a good man finding out he is dying, inspired by the events from her own life.
