Neighborhood Spotlight: Pinch Kitchen

Screen Shot 2017-05-11 at 3.26.16 PMBeing situated in the heart of Little River, our surrounding neighbors of Little Haiti, Liberty City, and MiMo aid to the vibrancy of culture that can be found blending together in the area. This calls for some of the most authentic eateries, galleries, and cultural spots in the city, standing tall for decades with the help of dedicated regulars whose daily lives would be disrupted with by their disappearance. But on top of the true local favorites that have stood the test of time, we’re also lucky that the community we call home is seeing some serious growth. Some of Miami’s best creatives across all industries are looking here for the foundations of our city’s future…and that includes food.

Opened in October of 2015, Pinch Kitchen was slated for local favorite status from the very start. The brain child of two Miami culinary masterminds, Chefs John Gallo and Rene Reyes, both Pubbelly Restaurant Group alumni, the neighborhood spot oozes with the intimacy of a true dive and the gourmet creations of some of Miami’s top eateries. The two call it a “freestyle American eatery” which means they basically take all of your favorite American comfort food plates and make them taste better than you’ve ever experience…or something like that. On a real level, they take the intimidation oftentimes served with haute-cuisine techniques and throw it out the window, creating a place where everyone is welcome. You can expect to drool over staple dishes like the Pinch Burger or Florida clams, all with a very local twist, or get hyped at the release of their hyper-seasonal menus on rotation throughout the year. Locally-sourced proteins and greens and Miami favorites like JoJo Tea can be found on the menu, intermingling with tastes from abroad. Pinch is also great about generating experiences for all kinds of food lovers. Throughout the weeks and months they have nightly specials that draw some serious crowds like craft beer Tuesdays, wine Wednesdays, live music on Thursdays and one of Miami’s most epic weekend Brunches. This month, they’ve partnered with some of the city’s most notable food writers and chefs to celebrate National Burger Month where each week features a unique burger creation. Pop in for a great weeknight meal or just to say hi whenever.
